Job summary

The Dayton Metro Library is seeking a full-time Teen Services Librarian for the Miamisburg Branch. The role focuses on creating engaging teen programs, assisting patrons, and building partnerships with schools and community groups.

Ideal candidates have a Master’s in Library Science (preferred) and strong customer service, communication, and active listening skills. The position emphasizes outreach, teamwork, and a commitment to accessibility and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Delivers excellent customer service to patrons.
• Responds effectively to questions from teens, parents, teachers and community members.
• Uses active listening to understand user needs and guide them to resources.
• Plans and delivers teen programs addressing community needs.
• Maintains ADA-compliant, welcoming Teen area and displays.
• Collaborates with schools and community groups for outreach.

Responsibilities

• Develops and delivers programming for youth in middle and high school.
• Assists patrons with information needs and reference resources at the desk.
• Provides outreach and school visits to meet community needs.
• Maintains safety and accessibility standards in the Teen area.
• Submits reports and participates in department meetings.
