Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania in Downtown Pittsburgh seeks a Teen Program Coordinator to plan and implement high-quality teen programming that promotes academic success, leadership, healthy lifestyles, workforce readiness, mentoring, and social-emotional growth.

You will build strong relationships with youth, families, schools, and community partners while creating a safe, engaging environment where teens can thrive.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Services, Social Work, Youth Development, Recreation, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with middle or high school-aged youth in an educational, recreational, community-based, or youth development setting preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience managing youth programs, education initiatives, workforce development programs, or community-based initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and facilitate engaging teen programming.
  • Support mentoring, workforce development, leadership, and social-emotional learning initiatives.
  • Develop activities that promote academic success, healthy lifestyles, character development, and career readiness.
  • Build positive, supportive relationships with youth and families.
  • Create a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.
  • Support recruitment, retention, outreach, and community engagement efforts.
  • Maintain attendance records, program documentation, and case notes.
  • Collect program data and support outcome tracking and reporting.
  • Assist with special events, workshops, service projects, and teen activities.

Location:Downtown Pittsburgh, PA
Pay:$18/hour
Schedule:Typically 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM during the school year and 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM during the summer; hours may vary.

Position Summary

The Teen Program Coordinator supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of high-quality teen programming designed to promote academic success, leadership development, healthy lifestyles, workforce readiness, mentoring, and social-emotional growth. This role builds meaningful relationships with youth, families, schools, and community partners while creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where teens can thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and facilitate engaging teen programming.

  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and other technology platforms.

Required Clearances

CPR/Pediatric First Aid, Child Abuse Clearance, PA Criminal History, FBI Clearance, NSOR Certificate, TB Test, Mandated Reporter Training, and other required certifications must be obtained upon hire or within established timelines.
