Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician I to support the inpatient behavioral health unit for children and adolescents aged 12-18. This part-time 20-hour per week position covers the 2nd shift (12pm–7pm), Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, onsite, reporting to the Mental Health Therapist.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Undergraduate enrollment in counseling/psychology/social work or related field, or nursing preferred.
• Associate degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the milieu of the environment, maintain safety, and support the implementation of ISP individualized plan of care.
• Provide supportive care and engagement according to Hospital Policy and procedure with Mental Health Therapists.
• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills to address physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of patients aged 12-18.
• Other duties as required.
