Job summary

Jubilee Academies is seeking a Technology Support Technician to deliver client-focused IT support across school campuses. You will troubleshoot hardware and software, configure devices for LAN access, and train staff on district information systems.

The role requires a two-year IT certificate (or equivalent) and CompTIA A+ certification, with occasional travel to Kingsville, TX. A full-time schedule and 40-hour work week are provided.

Qualifications

  • Two-year certificate or equivalent experience in IT support.
  • CompTIA A+ certification is required.
  • Experience supporting Windows and Mac OS and networked devices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide client support and issue resolution via email, phone, and other channels.
  • Configure equipment to connect to the information system over LAN/WAN.
  • Train clients on information system and related software.
  • Provide Level II technical support for software and network devices.

Position Title: Technology Support Technician
Position Type: Salary $38,668.98/ Non-Exempt
Position Hours: Full-time; Monday - Friday; 40 Hours per Week
Reports to: Technology Support Supervisor
Length of Term/Employment: 230 workdays / At-will

Position Mission
  • Provides technical assistance and training to employees and staff by performing the following duties.
Position Minimum Qualifications

  • Possible regular travel to Kingsville, TX
Education and/or Experience
  • Two year certificate from college or technical school; or Three year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CompTIA A+ Certificate.
Job Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide client support and technical issue resolution via E-Mail, phone and other electronic medium.
  • Configuration of client's equipment to connect to the Information system via LAN/WAN.
  • Configure local software to connect LAN resources and or Internet applications/servers.
  • Provide training to clients in the use of the Information system and applications related to software.
  • Obtain general understanding of OS and application operations related to district offered services.
  • Identify and correct or advise, on operational issues in client computer systems.
  • Provide Network hardware support for internal and external applications.
  • Evaluate new support systems/application system requirements for implementation.
  • Provide Level II Technical Support for software and network devices.
  • Perform light lifting 25lbs.
  • Perform creation of new accounts using district provide software tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Experience with hardware and software issues.

Language Skills
  • Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental/educational regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information, and respond to questions from groups of managers, staff, teachers, and the general public.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of both PC and Mac OS; OS X 10.7 Server; Windows Server 2008; proficient networking skills; Active Directory; Open Directory; Internet software; Word Processing software; Programing Experience.
Physical Demands
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employees regularly required to sit; stand and walk.
  • The employee is occasionally required to move light to moderate equipment from building to building; load and or unload vehicles; pack and/or unpack equipment.
