Ellingson is hiring for a Technology Support Specialist to join their growing team. The role involves installing and supporting system software and equipment used by employees, provisioning user accounts and licenses, and delivering technical support to end users.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm at our headquarters in West Concord, MN with very limited travel. Ellingson emphasizes stability and family values while serving underground solutions across the United States.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
• 1–2 years in a professional IT help desk or customer-facing technical support role.
• Proficiency in remote administration and troubleshooting of desktops and mobile devices; Office365 administration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate tech into clear instructions.
• Patience, empathy, and ability to de-escalate distressed users.

The Technology Support Specialist is responsible for installing and supporting system software and equipment used by company employees, provisioning user accounts and required software licenses, and providing technical support services to end users.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in a professional IT help desk or customer-facing technical support role or similar.
• Technical Proficiencies: Proficiency in remote administration and troubleshooting of desktop PCs and mobile devices. Experience with Office365 administration.
• Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding written and oral communication skills, with the ability to translate technical jargon into simple, clear instructions.
• Customer Service Mindset: High levels of patience, empathy, and the ability to professionally de-escalate frustrated or distressed users.

• Active Listening: The ability to accurately understand the issue a customer is describing and asking clarifying diagnostic questions.
• Time Management: Capable of prioritizing multiple incoming tickets in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Construction experience is preferred.
