Job description

20% Consulting/Advising:

Identify customer needs to plan and manage multi-faceted and specialized projects from creation through delivery. Advise, collaborate, and consult with clients, including department heads and leadership staff, via face-to-face, virtual, phone, and email interactions. Develop communication plans for web-based marketing and public relations activities, including monitoring web usage and providing statistics for management. Present plans to clients and stakeholders, gather feedback, and understand client needs. Lead new client projects with minimal supervision. Attend all client meetings and guide clients on best practices.

20% Knowledge Technical/Professional:

Utilize standard and specialized hardware and software to design and manage programs and projects. Conduct face-to-face training for university personnel on various software. Research and identify new technologies for use and purchase. Mentor team members on new platforms and troubleshoot issues. Ensure all ECU websites and emails are ADA compliant. Lead the transition to new digital platforms for web and email tools.

10% Communication Oral/Written:

Compose, edit, and adapt written materials for websites and client communications. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, developing communication strategies to effectively convey program information through user-friendly websites.

50% Project Management:

Design and maintain university websites using WordPress, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Incorporate audio/video content, manage links and cross-promotions, and implement interactive forms. Ensure all websites meet institutional and federal compliance standards and serve diverse audiences. Assist in managing the workflow for the web design/services team.

This position requires residence within a reasonable commuting distance of the ECU main campus.
