Job summary

University of North Carolina Charlotte seeks a Technology Support Analyst to provide specialized technical support and administration for systems and equipment that support ID card production, remote ID card stations, POS operations, and printing services.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher and 1 year of IT experience; or equivalent combination.

  • Experience with desktop support and enterprise print management is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for software and hardware used by Auxiliary Services.
  • Assist with implementation and daily maintenance of systems (Illumia Cloud POS, Transact System Enterprise).
  • Handle hardware setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting for remote ID Card Stations, printers, POS equipment, and peripherals.
  • Provide limited desktop support for workstations.

  • Primary Purpose of Position: This position is essential to the effective operation of Auxiliary Services by providing specialized technical support and administration for the systems and equipment that support critical business functions and daily operations. The position is responsible for implementing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting key enterprise applications, as well as the hardware and peripherals required for ID card production, remote ID card stations, point-of-sale operations, and printing services. By ensuring the reliability, security, and availability of these systems, the position minimizes operational disruptions, supports revenue-generating activities, and enables uninterrupted service to students, faculty, staff, and campus partners.
  • Minimum Education/Experience: Required Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree in Computer Information Technology, computer Technology Integration, Networking Technology, or related area and one (1) year of experience in the information technology field related to the position's role; or Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one (1) year experience in the information technology field related to the position's role; or Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, math or engineering or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Journey level requires an additional one year of experience. Note: Some state job postings state you can qualify by an 'equivalent combination of education and experience.' If that language appears above, then you may qualify through EITHER years of education OR years of directly related experience, OR a combination of both.
  • Essential Job Duties: This position is responsible for providing technical support for software and hardware utilized by units within Auxiliary Services. This position is responsible for assisting with the implementation and daily maintenance of systems, including Illumia Cloud Point of Sale and Transact System Enterprise, Entrust InstantID, Papercut, and similar systems. The position is responsible for all hardware and software setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting for remote ID Card Stations and printers, POS equipment, and peripherals. This position may also provide limited desktop support for computer workstations.
