Boys & Girls Clubs Of The Valley in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a part-time Youth Development Technology Specialist to supervise youth and deliver technology-driven activities. You will implement programs, ensure safety, and guide volunteers under the Program Director.

Responsibilities include organizing coding/robotics activities, coordinating tech showcases, and using outcome measures to assess impact. A passion for youth and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Passion for working with youth.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and cooperative working skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with new technology.
  • If 21 or older, must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, organizes, and facilitates programs using a formal curriculum.
  • Directly runs programming and high-yield activities.
  • Facilitate technology-focused programming in coding, robotics, design, etc.
  • Plan and coordinate technology showcases/events to display youth projects.
  • Administers outcome measurement tools.
  • Delivers programs with energy and a positive attitude.

Details:

This is a part-time position, working approximately 10-25 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Paid training and orientation are required.

JOB SUMMARY

The Youth Development Technology Specialist - is responsible for the safety and supervision of Club members. Under the direction of the Program Director, the Youth Development Specialist delivers quality programs and high-yield technology driven activities to Club members. Utilizes the organization’s mission, vision, and values to set members up for success and provide an outcome-driven Club experience. Responsibilities include but are not limited to program development and facilitation, program area safety and cleanliness, and providing guidance to volunteers. If 21 or older, responsibilities may include transporting members.

JOB RESPONSBILITIES:

Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develops, organizes, and facilitates programs and activities utilizing a formal curriculum.
  • Directly runs programming and high-yield activities in assigned area.
  • Facilitate technology focused programming for youth of all ages and skill levels, fostering exploration and creativity in areas including but not limited to coding, robotics, design, and other relevant trends.
  • Plan and coordinate technology showcases/events to display youth’s projects and celebrate their achievements.
  • Administers outcome measurement tools.
  • Delivers programs with an enthusiastic, high-energy, positive attitude
Health & Safety:
  • Ensures program areas remain safe, clean, and organized.
  • Adheres to Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley’s policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates sound judgement and decision-making.
  • Maintains Club equipment and property to ensure they stay in good working order.
  • Uses positive guidance and discipline techniques to redirect member behavior issues.
  • Utilizes active supervision techniques when working with Club members.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Supports and mirrors the culture, mission, values, and core beliefs of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley.
  • Promotes an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity.
  • May include assisting with food program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY and SKILLS - Required
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Passion for working with youth.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to Club’s changing needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and cooperative working skills.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite and be comfortable adapting to new technology.
  • If 21 or older, maintains a valid driver’s license and meets eligibility requirements to drive Club vehicles.
  • Safety oriented mindset.
Recommended:
  • Direct youth programming experience.
  • Ability to earn and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
WORKING CONDITIONS and DRIVING:
  • Some travel required between BGCAZ Branches, schools and community sites
