Job summary

The Youth Development Specialist – Technology at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley is responsible for the safety and supervision of Club members while delivering technology-driven activities and programs under the direction of the Program Director.

Responsibilities include program development, safety and cleanliness, and guiding volunteers. If 21 or older, responsibilities may include transporting members. Part‑time hours are approximately 10–25 per week, with paid training and orientation.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Passion for working with youth.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to Club’s changing needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and cooperative working skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite and be comfortable adapting to new technology.
  • If 21 or older, maintain a valid driver’s license and meet eligibility requirements to drive Club vehicles.
  • Safety‑oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, organize, and facilitate programs and activities utilizing a formal curriculum.
  • Directly run programming and high‑yield activities in assigned area.
  • Facilitate technology focused programming for youth of all ages and skill levels, fostering exploration and creativity in areas including but not limited to coding, robotics, design, and other relevant trends.
  • Plan and coordinate technology showcases/events to display youth’s projects and celebrate their achievements.
  • Administer outcome measurement tools.
  • Deliver programs with an enthusiastic, high‑energy, positive attitude.

DIVISION: Club Operations

DIRECT REPORTS: N/A

Details: This is a part‑time position, working approximately 10‑25 hours per week, Monday‑Friday. Paid training and orientation are required.

Job Summary

The Youth Development Specialist – Technology is responsible for the safety and supervision of Club members. Utilizes the organization’s mission, vision, and values to set members up for success and provide an outcome‑driven Club experience. Responsibilities include but are not limited to program development and facilitation, program area safety and cleanliness, and providing guidance to volunteers. If 21 or older, responsibilities may include transporting members.

Responsibilities

Health & Safety
  • Ensure program areas remain safe, clean, and organized.
  • Adhere to Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley’s policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and decision‑making.
  • Maintain Club equipment and property to ensure they stay in good working order.
  • Use positive guidance and discipline techniques to redirect member behavior issues.
  • Utilize active supervision techniques when working with Club members.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support and mirror the culture, mission, values, and core beliefs of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley.
  • Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity.
  • May include assisting with food program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Ability, and Skills
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Passion for working with youth.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to Club’s changing needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and cooperative working skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct youth programming experience.
  • Ability to earn and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
