We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Developer with strong AWS and Python expertise to drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable cloud-based applications. Based in Atlanta, GA, this role will combine deep technical hands‑on work with leadership responsibilities, guiding a team of developers while partnering with business stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Lead architecture, design, and development of applications using Python and AWS services
- Establish and enforce coding standards, development best practices, and design patterns
- Conduct code reviews and ensure high-quality, maintainable code
- Drive technical decisions and provide strategic direction for engineering initiatives
AWS Cloud Development
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions on AWS
- Work with AWS services such as:
- Lambda, ECS, EKS
- API Gateway
- S3, DynamoDB, RDS, Aurora
- CloudFormation / Terraform (IaC)
- Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost
Software Development
- Develop robust backend systems using Python (FastAPI, Flask, Django)
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
- Lead the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)
DevOps & Automation
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline)
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana)
- Collaborate closely with DevOps and infrastructure teams
Team Leadership
- Mentor and coach a team of developers in Atlanta and remote locations
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and performance management
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work with product managers, architects, and business teams to define requirements
- Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
- Provide status updates, risk assessments, and technical insights to leadership
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of software development experience, including 2+ years in a lead role
- Strong hands‑on expertise in Python
- Extensive experience with AWS cloud platform
- Proven experience designing microservices and distributed systems
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, system design, and scalable architectures
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer Associate, or Professional)
- Experience in industries common in Atlanta (FinTech, Healthcare, Logistics)
- Familiarity with event‑driven architectures (SNS, SQS, Kafka)
- Knowledge of security and compliance best practices
- Agile/Scrum experience
