Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. in Chapel Hill is seeking a Technology Services Designer II to help design energy-efficient building systems and coordinate technology infrastructure. You will interpret basis of design information, work with users, consultants, and field surveys to convert concepts into precise layouts.

The role emphasizes coordination of space, knowledge of NEC/TIA/BICSI/FGI standards, and a willingness to learn about new technologies to address client needs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in building systems design – structured cabling, technology systems infrastructure and low voltage electrical systems.
• Understanding of building systems spatial requirements and design coordination.
• Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD.
• Interest in helping clients leverage technology and technology systems to address their operational needs and meet their staff and organizational goals.
• Interest in and curiosity about existing and emerging technologies.
• Knowledge of NEC, TIA, BICSI, FGI standards.

Responsibilities

• Convert system design concepts into layouts by interpreting basis of design and information from users, other consultants, field surveys and code research.
• Collaborate with clients and project teams to ensure designs meet requirements and standards.
