The role focuses on civilian agencies, the White House, and the Office of Management and Budget, requiring a sharp writer who can find sources, explain complex policy, and deliver timely stories.

Nextgov/FCW seeks a reporter to provide coverage of emerging technologies in the federal government.

The Role

Nextgov/FCW, an award-winning digital publication of GovExec, leads the way in reporting on how advances in technology are transforming the way government agencies deliver services and perform vital functions. Nextgov/FCW seeks a reporter to provide coverage of emerging technologies in the federal government.

Relevant topics for coverage include artificial intelligence, quantum computing and other emerging technologies, as well as tracking how the administration and Congress address technology policy and paying attention to key officials and industry leaders. This reporter will cover key civilian agencies as well as the White House and Office of Management and Budget. The ideal candidate will be a sharp and driven writer who can track important stories and explain them to our audience. This individual will have an understanding of the federal landscape and policymaking and a keen eye for unique government technology stories.

• Writing breaking news stories and enterprise features for digital and print

Qualifications

The compensation range for this role is $70,000 to $80,000 per year.
