Job summary

The City of Charlotte seeks an IT Program Manager within the Charlotte Area Transit System to oversee technology portfolios and major initiatives. You will provide governance, planning, and cross-functional coordination across Infrastructure, Applications, Cybersecurity, and Strategy & Quality functions.

Reporting to Technology leadership, you’ll drive consistent delivery practices and enable transparency, accountability, and timely status updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, or related field.
• Five years progressively responsible experience in project/program management.
• Public-sector or transportation domain experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain portfolio visibility across technology initiatives, projects, and workstreams.
• Lead development of program plans for major initiatives and multi-project efforts.
• Establish governance structures for program execution and reporting.
• Coordinate planning across technical and business stakeholders.
• Ensure delivery readiness and consistent project documentation.
