Silpa Companies, LLC is a national IT consulting and staffing firm empowering organizations across multiple industries through a blend of AI adoption, Master Data Management, Data and Analytics, Cybersecurity, Cloud Engineering, DevSecOps/GitOps, Fractional C-Suite leadership, Digital Transformation, and M&A advisory for private equity and software ventures.
Role Description
Silpa Companies is seeking a hands-on Technology Lead for contract, project-based engagements across our application, data, and cloud delivery portfolio. You will serve as the senior technical point of contact on client engagements, leading engineering teams while remaining an active contributor in architecture, development, and delivery. This role is not a pure management position. You will be expected to lead sprint planning, architect solutions, review and write code, and make real-time technical decisions alongside your team. You are equally comfortable guiding a junior developer through a complex integration and personally building out a cloud-native microservice. This role is designed for a practitioner who has grown into leadership without losing the technical edge that makes them valuable.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior technical lead on client engagements, owning architecture decisions, delivery quality, and team output.
- Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, technical estimation, and day-to-day delivery coordination.
- Define and enforce engineering standards including code quality, testing practices, branching strategy, and documentation.
- Conduct code reviews and provide direct, constructive feedback to development team members.
- Escalate and resolve technical blockers, integration issues, and architecture conflicts in real time.
- Personally contribute code across the full stack including frontend, backend, APIs, and data integrations as needed.
- Design and implement cloud-native solutions across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, containerized workloads, and infrastructure-as-code configurations.
- Contribute to database design, data modeling, and API contract definition.
- Debug and resolve complex issues across the stack, cloud environments, and third-party integrations.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications, architecture diagrams, and sprint-ready user stories.
- Communicate delivery status, technical risk, and architecture decisions to client project managers and stakeholders.
- Mentor and upskill junior and mid-level engineers on the engagement team.
- Collaborate with security, data, and DevSecOps practitioners to ensure solutions are built with security and scalability in mind.
- Lead the design and implementation of AI-powered features and LLM-integrated application components within client delivery projects.
- Architect and build RAG pipelines, LLM API integrations, and agent-based workflows using frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Semantic Kernel.
- Evaluate and recommend LLM platforms and APIs including OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, and Google Vertex AI based on project requirements.
- Enforce responsible AI development practices including prompt security, output validation, rate limiting, and LLM-specific threat mitigation.
- Guide the team in integrating AI capabilities into production systems with appropriate testing, observability, and fallback handling.
What We Are Looking For
- 5 or more years of hands-on software engineering experience with at least 2 years in a technical lead or senior engineering capacity.
- Proficiency across the full stack with experience in two or more of the following: React, Angular, Vue, Node.js, Python, Java, .NET, Go, or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of cloud-native development patterns across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD toolchains (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps), and IaC (Terraform, Bicep).
- Strong database skills across relational (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL) and non-relational (MongoDB, Cosmos DB, DynamoDB) platforms.
- Hands-on experience integrating LLMs or building AI-powered features using at least one major LLM framework or API.
- Familiarity with AI security risks including OWASP LLM Top 10, prompt injection, and data leakage through model outputs.
- Ability to architect, build, and ship production-quality software while simultaneously guiding a team.
- Clear communicator with the ability to manage technical conversations with both engineering teams and client stakeholders.
Eligibility Requirements
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Candidates located in the Houston, Texas area will be given preference; however, remote practitioners will also be considered.
- Reliable, secure internet connection and ability to travel to client sites as required by engagement scope.
- Available to mobilize within a standard engagement window and maintain consistent availability throughout project duration.
