Job summary

Tech Holding is seeking a Technical Lead to guide a distributed engineering team across Los Angeles, Mexico, and India. The role is onsite in Downtown Los Angeles with travel to client sites as needed, driving architecture, development, and AI-enabled improvements.

You will stay hands-on with TypeScript/Node.js while defining technical direction, partnering with product and delivery, and mentoring engineers to raise overall capability. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for engineering teams across Los Angeles, Mexico, and India.
• Own technical direction, architecture decisions, engineering standards, and implementation strategy.
• Remain hands-on with development using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Design and build scalable cloud-based applications and services.
• Lead technical design discussions and translate business and product requirements into practical engineering solutions.
• Review code, provide technical guidance, and help engineers solve complex development challenges.
• Coordinate development across distributed teams and ensure alignment on priorities, architecture, standards, and delivery expectations.
• Partner closely with product, delivery, client stakeholders, and other engineering leaders.
• Identify technical risks and dependencies early and drive them to resolution.
• Improve engineering practices around code quality, testing, deployment, observability, and maintainability.
• Drive the effective use of AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and software quality.
• Identify and deliver opportunities to incorporate AI capabilities into applications, workflows, and internal engineering processes.
• Mentor engineers and raise the overall technical capability of the team.

The Role

We are looking for a Technical Lead for a project assignment to provide hands-on technical leadership for a distributed engineering team across Los Angeles, Mexico, and India. This role is based onsite in Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA), with regular travel to client and partner sites across the LA area as business needs require. You will lead the technical direction and day-to-day execution of the engineering team while remaining actively involved in architecture, development, code reviews, and solving complex technical problems. The environment is built primarily on TypeScript, Node.js, and the cloud, with a strong emphasis on AI-assisted development and on building AI capabilities into both the engineering workflow and the products we build.

We are looking for someone who understands how modern AI tools can improve software engineering and is comfortable helping a team adopt them thoughtfully. Experience with tools such as Claude is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Location

Salary Range

• $150,000 - $180,000 USD Annually (depending on experience) + Benefits
