Job summary

Blackhawk Network invites applications for a Technology Intern in Dallas, TX. You will collaborate with software developers and architects to learn to build large-scale big data processing systems handling multi-billion-dollar transactions with penny-level precision.

You will work on stream processing, DevOps pipelines, and cloud-based infrastructure while exploring ML/AI and real-time risk/fraud applications. Candidates should be pursuing a STEM degree and demonstrate strong fundamentals.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate solid engineering fundamentals with strong algorithms and data structures.
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in STEM fields.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to learn, be inquisitive and passionate.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build large-scale big data processing systems handling multi-billion-dollar transactions with penny-level precision.
• Build stream-processing systems with Spark-Streaming.
• Develop DevOps pipelines and CI/CD for the enterprise.
• Build large-scale transaction processing systems with REST, micro-services, Spark, Lambda processing, Kinesis, Elastic, AWS and more.
• Data and Analytics platforms applying ML/AI and Big Data techniques.
• Real-time risk/fraud systems to detect and prevent financial fraud.
• Building secure and scalable cloud infrastructure.
