Job summary

Bardwell Group seeks a Computer Technology Instructor for David Ellis Academy West in Redford, Michigan. The instructor will develop technology curricula and deliver instruction across multiple trades, with emphasis on safe tool use and hands-on learning.

The role requires creating engaging lesson plans, assessing student progress, and collaborating with the School Leader and families to support student achievement.

Qualifications

• Michigan State Teacher's Certification with Technology endorsement.
• Bachelors or Masters degree in an education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
• Experience in teaching is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers technology education curriculum aligned with Academy goals.
• Teaches mechanics, drafting, electricity, electronics, metalwork, graphic arts, woodworking or related fields.
• Promotes a safe, conducive learning environment for individuals and small groups.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials; uses appropriate equipment for instruction.
• Instructs students in proper tool use and safety; conducts ongoing assessment and adjusts methods.
• Maintains records, grading and reporting in line with school procedures and laws.
• Encourages parental involvement and effective communication with students and parents.
