Job summary

Harris County Sheriff’s Office seeks a Compliance Policy Manager to oversee policy development, risk-based compliance monitoring and training across custody systems. You will work with system owners, Legal and Information Security to maintain controls for ALPR and sensitive technology use.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 5 years in compliance/risk roles, CJIS screening, and the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams for executive reporting and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or substitutions per policy specifications.
• Five (5) years of professional experience in compliance, internal controls, audit, technology governance, risk management or policy implementation.
• Substitutions: four (4) years of additional qualifying experience may substitute for the degree; master’s or JD may substitute for one year.
• Must pass agency background investigation including fingerprint CJIS screening.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and develops technology-use policies, procedures and controls (ALPR focus).
• Maintains governance review schedules and approval history.
• Documents findings, gaps and corrective actions; supports CJIS audits.
• Coordinates policy training with Academy, owners and vendors.
• Documents data-use and retention requirements with data stewards.
• Prepares executive reports and coordinates oversight responses.
