CannonDesign is seeking an entry-level engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team, working under a project leader and licensed engineer on telecommunications design for educational, healthcare, and commercial projects. You will participate in creating construction documents, develop design skills under supervision, and learn applicable codes while contributing to quality improvements.

Competenze

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required by hire date, ABET-accredited preferred.
  • EIT/FE certification preferred.
  • Related internship work experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to effectively handle multiple projects.
  • Experience with engineering design software (Revit, Navisworks or similar).

Mansioni

  • Participates in preparing construction documents and basic specs for telecom systems.
  • May design telecommunication systems under supervision for healthcare, education, and commercial clients.
  • Learn to analyze drawings and layout systems with engineering oversight.
  • Develop knowledge of applicable codes for telecom design applications.
  • Recommend improvements to standards and processes to improve quality and streamline production.
  • Review and markup shop drawings and submittals.
  • Gather information to respond to RFIs and review change orders during documentation.
  • Visit job sites to verify conditions and observe progress; site walks required.
  • May perform other duties as required.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This entry-level position will be a member of our multi-disciplinary team and work under the direction of a project leader and licensed engineer. Projects include new construction and renovation in educational, healthcare, sports, corporate commercial and science and technology.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Participates in the preparation of construction documents and basic specifications of telecommunications systems for building construction.
  • Under direct supervision, may design telecommunication systems for healthcare, education/higher education and commercial clients, per applicable codes.
  • Develop ability to analyze engineering documents and layout systems in regard to components and parts with engineering oversight.
  • Under supervision develop knowledge of applicable codes for the application of telecommunication design.
  • Recommend improvements with reference standards and processes to improve quality, coordination, and to streamline production efforts.
  • Assists in the review and markup of shop drawings and submittals.
  • Assists in gathering information to respond to RFI's and review of change orders in the preparation of construction documents.
  • Assists in visiting job site to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress. Site visits frequently require a physical walk-through of site.
  • May perform other duties as required.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering required by hire date. Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program preferred.
  • EIT/FE preferred.
  • Related student internship work experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to effectively handle multiple projects.
  • Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs (i.e. Revit, Navisworks or similar applications) preferred.
