Job summary

About the Role

This entry‑level position will be a member of our multi‑disciplinary team and work under the direction of a project leader and licensed engineer. Projects include new construction and renovation in educational, healthcare, sports, corporate commercial and science and technology.

Here's What You'll Do

• Participate in the preparation of construction documents and basic specifications of telecommunications systems for building construction.
• Under direct supervision, may design telecommunication systems for healthcare, education/higher education and commercial clients, including fire alarm systems per applicable codes.
• Develop ability to analyze engineering documents and layout systems in regard to components and parts with engineering oversight.
• Under supervision develop knowledge of applicable codes for the application of telecommunication design.
• Recommend improvements with reference standards and processes to improve quality, coordination, and to streamline production efforts.
• Assist in the review and markup of shop drawings and submittals.
• Assist in gathering information to respond to RFIs and review of change orders in the preparation of construction documents.
• Assist in visiting job site to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress. Site visits frequently require a physical walk‑through of site.
• May perform other duties as required.

Here's What You'll Need

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required by hire date. Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program preferred.
• EIT/FE preferred.
• Related student internship work experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to effectively handle multiple projects.
• Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs (e.g. Revit, Navisworks or similar applications) preferred.

Benefits and Compensation

The salary range for this position to be filled in the Buffalo, NY or Chicago, IL office is $26.67 to $33.34 hourly. This range is the anticipated base compensation at the time of posting; actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education and/or skill level.
