Job summary

Polar Semiconductor, LLC in Bloomington, MN is seeking a Technology Development Engineer Intern to support new development efforts under the Lead Engineer in the Technology Development and Transfer group.

You will characterize electrical parametric devices, perform and evaluate process splits, and measure wafer data while creating characterization documents and supporting quality, safety, and yield initiatives during a 12- to 13-week on-site internship.

Qualifications

  • Students working toward a Bachelor or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics
  • Students in their Junior year or higher
  • Preferred: Intro to Device Physics and/or Semiconductor Processing coursework

Responsibilities

  • Characterize electrical parametric devices by hand probe
  • Perform and evaluate process splits
  • Measure and analyze inline wafer data (film thickness, critical dimensions, etc.)
  • Create process characterization documents

About the Role

The Development Engineering Intern will report to the Lead Engineer in the Technology Development and Transfer group to support new development efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and evaluate process splits
  • Measure and analyze inline wafer data (film thickness, critical dimensions, etc.)
  • Create process characterization documents
  • Support company initiatives, such as; quality, safety and environmental management, CQI, 5S, yield management, cost containment and perform other duties as assigned
  • Other duties, as assigned
Qualifications
  • Required: Students working toward a Bachelor or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics
  • Students in their Junior year or higher
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Preferred: Coursework should include: Intro to Device Physics and/or Semiconductor Processing course

What We Offer
  • Salary: $25.50 - $32.20 per hour
