Job summary

Polar Semiconductor, LLC, located in Bloomington, MN, announces a Design Enablement Engineer Intern position for a 12-13 week on-site assignment. You will work under a mentor to learn design enablement fundamentals and contribute to internal and external customers, impacting product development and quality.

Qualified students are pursuing a BS or MS in EE/CE/Physics, are in their junior year or higher, and have scripting ability (Python, Tcl, C-shell, or Perl).

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Physics.
• Junior year or higher.
• Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, C-shell, Perl, etc. (at least one).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Be trained in PDK related activities.
• Establish EDA/CAD environment scripting/automation.
• Create automation/scripting documents.
• Support company initiatives, such as quality, safety and environmental management.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Design Enablement Engineer Intern Location: Bloomington, MN| [On-Site] Employment Type: Temporary – 12-13 weeks

About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated DE Intern to join our Design Enablement Department. In this role, you’ll work with an assigned mentor learning fundamentals of design enablement in the semiconductor industry and contribute to our daily deliveries to our internal and external customers. Your work will directly impact product development, customers experiences, product quality, etc.

Key Responsibilities

• Be trained in PDK related activities
• Establish EDA/CAD environment scripting/automation
• Create automation/scripting documents
• Support company initiatives, such as quality, safety and environmental management
• Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications Required:

• Students working toward a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Physics
• Students in their Junior year or higher
• Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, C-shell, Perl, etc. (at least one)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred:

• Coursework should include Intro to Computer engineering/science course preferred, VLSI design, Introduction to Electronics Circuits, IC Fabrication, but not required

• Salary: $25.50 - $32.20 per hour.
