Job summary

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc is seeking a Technology Designer II in Houston to assist Technology Consultants with project design, initial project management tasks, and coordination across disciplines. You will help prepare Revit/CAD documents and ensure code-compliant systems while supporting early budgeting and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 3+ years of experience, or 6 years direct low voltage design experience.
• Strong ability to read blueprints/specs and coordinate with multiple disciplines.
• Proficiency with Revit/AutoCAD and MS Office required.

Responsibilities

• Confirm project scope and communicate to the project team and stakeholders.
• Plan and execute project management tasks: schedules, man-hour budgets, kickoffs, coordination.
• Assist with fee/contract negotiations, invoicing accuracy, and accounts receivable tracking.
• Prepare QA/QC plans and support design production in Revit/CAD.
• Perform site visits to assess field conditions and monitor progress against specs.
• Coordinate with other disciplines on equipment needs and technical information.
