Job summary

HDR's Building Engineering Services Group in Virginia Beach is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design critical infrastructure for the digital age. You will evaluate low voltage systems and contribute to construction documents while collaborating on nurse call, patient monitoring, EMS radio and fiber systems.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, proficiency with MS Office, and a collaborative, employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Active participation in our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and apply state-of-the-art low voltage technology systems, techniques, procedures, designs and modifications.
  • Understand technology infrastructure systems, including communications structured cabling, outside plant systems and fiber‑optic systems
  • Understand medical technology systems design such as nurse call, patient EETV, physiological monitoring, EMS radio and distributed antenna systems
  • Assist in preparation of construction documents and specifications
  • Perform other duties as needed
