Job summary

HDR's Building Engineering Services Group designs critical infrastructure for the digital age, supporting spaces where people work, connect, and thrive.

Responsibilities include evaluating low voltage systems, cabling, fiber optics, and medical tech design such as nurse call and patient monitoring. You will assist with construction documents and specifications, performing other duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

As part of HDR’s Building Engineering Services Group, you’ll help design the critical infrastructure that supports the digital age and shapes the spaces where people work, connect, and thrive.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and apply state-of-the-art low voltage technology systems, techniques, procedures, designs and modifications
• Understand technology infrastructure systems, including communications structured cabling, outside plant systems and fiber‑optic systems
• Understand medical technology systems design such as nurse call, patient EETV, physiological monitoring, EMS radio and distributed antenna systems
• Assist in preparation of construction documents and specifications
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• RCDD (Registered Communication Distribution Designer) certification is helpful
• Familiarity with MS Visio, Autodesk
• Local candidates preferred

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or combination of education and relevant experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location: Fulton, MD: $63,756 - $91,080; Arlington, VA: $69,552 - $99,360; Glen Allen, VA: $57,960 - $82,800; Vienna, VA: $69,552 - $99,360; Virginia Beach, VA: $57,960 - $82,800.
