IMEG Corp. is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Technology Designer in our Naperville office. As a Technology Designer, you will work closely with a team of experienced engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes. Primary responsibilities will include assisting in engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of low-voltage technology (ICT) systems in buildings. This position will be expected to work within the project's monetary budget as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.

Principal Responsibilities

1. Assist in the design and analysis of IT structured cabling, audio/video, security, and other low-voltage building systems, utilizing engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards
2. Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively. Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication
3. Work as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects. Assist in project planning and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines and objectives
4. Assist with documenting design decisions and instructions from clients while monitoring project design progress
5. Analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and propose innovative solutions. Collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions
6. Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure that engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements
7. Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in low-voltage technology (ICT) engineering. Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG
8. Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work. Identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with low-voltage technology ICT systems
9. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals

Required Skills/Abilities

1. Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
2. Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to electrical voltage and current, digital and analog signals, basic IT networking topologies and protocols, as it relates to electrical low-voltage systems design for buildings
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
4. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
5. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
6. Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges
7. Basic knowledge in the use of BIM software
8. Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
9. Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
10. Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays

Education And Experience

1. Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer or related Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, related STEM field, or equivalent required
2. Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
3. Engineering in Training (EIT) License preferred

Physical Requirements

1. Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 Pounds
2. Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull
3. Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises

Salary Range $69,000 - 72,000. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
