Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care is seeking a Sonographer who demonstrates a thorough understanding of radiologic principles and applies the most appropriate technique and positioning to support accurate diagnoses and treatments.

The role requires ARDMS or RVT registration (or eligibility within 120 days), BLS within 14 days of hire, and basic computer literacy; preferred is recent Sonographer experience to uphold quality patient care.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or RVT registration (or new graduate waiting for registry) within 120 days of graduation.
• BLS certification required within 14 days of hire.
• New graduate who will obtain required registry within 120 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates thorough understanding of radiologic principles/theory and uses appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures.
• Develops and implements the procedure/treatment plan following hospital protocols/guidelines.
• Completes documentation to comply with hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in neat, safe condition.

Overview

Summary
Performs imaging procedures/treatments according to radiology practice standards in order to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principals/theory and utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments, as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results.


• Develops appropriate procedure/treatment plan.


• Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital protocols/guidelines.


• Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures.


• Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.


• Participates in hospital and departmental Performance Improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards.


• Completes assigned goals.

Requirements, Preferences And Experience

Education
Minimum: Registered by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography ARDMS and/or Registered Vascular Technologist RVT or new graduate who is waiting to take the registry. Proof of registry (by primary source) must be available within 120 calendar days of graduation. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 14 days of hire date.

Experience
Preferred: Recent experience as a Sonographer.

Licensure, Registration, Certification
