Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care in Memphis seeks a skilled Sonographer to perform imaging procedures per radiology standards, supporting diagnosis and treatment. The role requires ARDMS or RVT certification, BLS, and recent hands-on experience.

You will maintain equipment, document procedures, and participate in quality improvement efforts while delivering safe, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Registered ARDMS and/or RVT, or new graduate awaiting registry; registries must be provided within 120 days of graduation.
• BLS certification required within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs imaging procedures and treatments according to radiology standards to aid diagnosis and treatment.
• Develops and implements procedure plans and ensures accurate positioning.
• Documents procedures and maintains equipment and rooms in a safe, clean state.
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities to ensure patient care meets standards.
• Completes assigned goals.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principals/theory and utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments, as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results.
• Develops appropriate procedure/treatment plan.
• Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital protocols/guidelines.
• Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Participates in hospital and departmental Performance Improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards.
• Completes assigned goals.

• Recent experience as a Sonographer.

Education

Minimum Required

• Registered by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography ARDMS and/or Registered Vascular Technologist RVT or new graduate who is waiting to take the registry. Proof of registry (by primary source) must be available within 120 calendar days of graduation. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 14 days of hire date.
