Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care is seeking a Surgical Technologist who will function under AST guidelines, handle instruments, supplies and equipment during procedures, and assist the surgical team by arranging, inventorying and maintaining a sterile setup. You will pass items as needed and support the surgeon for safe operations and optimal patient outcomes.

You will prepare the surgical suite, move patients, assist in intraoperative care, and ensure equipment is available and safely utilized.

Qualifications

• National certification in surgical technology (CST) required.
• Excellent English communication, both written and spoken.
• Computer literacy and membership in a professional organization required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in performance of procedures for the surgical patient in a manner consistent with established policies and procedures.
• Assists in providing intraoperative care.
• Provides and utilizes equipment and supplies based on patient needs in a safely and adequate manner.

Job Summary

Functions under the AST guidelines for performance. Handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Assists surgical team during operation/procedure by arranging, inventorying and maintaining sterile set up for operation, and passes items as needed. Assists in preparation of surgical suite, moving patients, and in cleaning. Provides aid in exposure, homeostasis, and other technical functions that will help the surgeon carry out safe operation with optimal results for the patient within AST standards. Performs other duties as assigned.
