Responsibilities

1. Perform diagnostic procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics in accordance with accepted protocols.
2. Set up and adjust all imaging equipment and manually maneuver transducers to perform exams.
3. Implement safety standards and perform appropriate quality control procedures.
4. Perform routine and complex studies and assist in a variety of imaging procedures.
5. Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations.
6. Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
7. Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
8. Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers, and patient data/history).
9. Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area, and any other areas in the department.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

1. BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
2. One or more of the following required:
1. Cardiac Sonographer specializing in Adult Echo credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Advanced Pediatric Echocardiography Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer-Pediatric Echocardiography (RDCS-PE) or Fetal Echocardiography Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer-Pediatric Echocardiography (RDCS-FE) also accepted.
2. Sonography Tech specializing in Cardiac credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Cardiovascular Credentialing International - Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (CCI ACS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International - Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (CCI-RCCS) also accepted.

Education:

1. High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
