American Water is looking for a Technician, Water Quality & Environmental Compliance to join our New Jersey team. This role involves collecting samples across assigned water and wastewater systems to support regulatory compliance and accurate data collection.

The technician will prepare reagents, maintain logs, ensure clean glassware, and uphold QA/QC on lab equipment while contributing to process improvements and safety.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of water or other utility operations preferred.
• Knowledge of specific systems such as SAP preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite applications including MSWord, Excel, Access and PowerPoint and email management systems (MS Outlook).
• Demonstrated organizational and administrative skills.
• Good business acumen and judgment.
• Good quantitative and analytical skills; attention to detail.
• Good verbal and written communication skills (e.g., report writing, listening, plan reading and creating, and presentation).
• Strong interpersonal skills (e.g., tact/diplomacy, persuasion, team building, cooperation, leadership, ability to motivate others).

$25hr - $27hr

The base salary range represents a good faith salary range for this position. This position is eligible for annual incentive pay and has the opportunity for continued salary growth. Primary Role

American Water is currently seeking a Technician, Water Quality & Environmental Compliance to join our NJ team. The Technician, Water Quality and Environmental Compliance is responsible for the collection of samples across assigned water and/or wastewater systems within State Operations.

• High School Diploma. Associate’s degree in science, business administration or management, or related degree preferred
