Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH is seeking a skilled structural sheet metal repair technician at the Opa Locka Service Center. You will repair, modify and maintain aircraft structures, read mechanical drawings and work with hand tools and basic PC systems.

The role requires an A&P license, sheet metal certification or equivalent, and 2 years of related experience. Overtime, outdoor work, and potential SIDA badge are possible.

Qualifications

• 2 years of structural sheet metal repair and modification experience or substantiated similar experience.
• A&P license required.
• Sheet metal A/C tech school or equivalent schooling completed.
• Ability to interpret mechanical engineering drawings.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Own a basic set of hand tools with ability to Inventory & control of tools.
• Must obtain Ground Support Equipment Qualifications as required.
• Able to work unscheduled overtime including holidays.
• Able to work outdoors in variable weather.
• SIDA badge may be required (where applicable).
• Basic PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to general work requirements for factory, shop and hanger positions.
• Comply with environmental health/safety policies and procedures; perform 5-S activities.
• Troubleshoot, repair, inspect and perform maintenance on customer aircraft.
• Remove/install aircraft components as required.
• Fabricate/modify structural modifications on aircraft parts.
• Perform minor structural repairs on composite components.
• Assist in hidden damage inspection of aircraft structures.
• Assist with complex structural repairs on/off aircraft.
• Perform and document work per manuals and regulations.
• Operate ground support equipment as required.
• Assist with aircraft component repair.
• Perform mechanical/electrical removals and installations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

How to thrive in this role?

• You have 2 years of structural sheet metal repair and modification experience or substantiated similar experience
• You hold an Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license
• You have completed sheet metal A/C Tech school or equivalent schooling
• You can interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings
• You have the ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form on individual and / or aircraft status
• You own Basic set of hand tools with the ability to demonstrate Inventory & control of tools
• You must obtain appropriate Ground Support Equipment Qualifications as required
• You are able to work unscheduled overtime including nonscheduled work days and holidays
• You are able to work in seasonal/inclement weather outside
• You can obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge (SIDA) (If applicable)
• You possess basic PC skills
