Job summary

Mercury GSE is seeking a Ground Support Equipment Technician to inspect, repair, and overhaul aviation-ground equipment. The role requires reading schematics, performing preventative maintenance, and maintaining safe work practices in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of GSE repair experience, a valid Class C license, and ASE/diesel certifications are a plus. Candidates must obtain airport badges and demonstrate strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (required).
  • 2+ years repairing and maintaining ground support equipment.
  • Valid class C driver’s license.
  • ASE certification or other Diesel certification a plus.
  • Must securely obtain airport security badges.
  • Strong problem-solving and ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Excellent communication and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, service, troubleshoot, repair, replace, and overhaul ground support equipment and components (chassis, body, drive-train, engines, transmissions, electrical and fuel systems, running gear, A/C, and related systems).
  • Read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (oil changes, coolant, fluids, brakes, tires).
  • Safely operate a motor vehicle.
  • Complete work-order documentation per procedures.
  • Keep tools and equipment in safe condition and report hazards.
  • Comply with federal, local, state regulations, Mercury GSE, and HSE procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Description

We are seeking a Ground Support Equipment Technician / Mechanic experienced in the inspection, repair, and overhaul of ground support equipment used in aviation ground operations. The ideal candidate will posses a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect, service, troubleshoot, repair, replace, and overhaul ground support equipment and components such as chassis, body, drive-train components, engines, transmissions, electrical systems, fuel systems, running gear systems, and A/C supply, compression and delivery systems.
  • Able to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Perform preventative and routine maintenance such as oil changes, replacing/adding coolant and fluids, brake and tire changes, etc., on ground support equipment.
  • Able to safely and legally operate a motor vehicle.
  • Complete forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in an effective, safe working condition.
  • Report any safety violation, machining equipment misusage, and/or properly performed work to supervisor or lead.
  • Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by federal, local, and state government, Mercury GSE, and HSE Procedures.
  • Keep work area clean and free of any safety hazards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Mercury GSE reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in repairing and maintaining ground support equipment
  • Provide and maintain a complete set of tools necessary to perform job
  • Possess and maintain a valid class C driver's license
  • Valid ASE certification or other Diesel certification is a plus
  • Must be able to secure proper airport authority security badges.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with the role.
