Job summary

Avient Corporation in Birmingham, AL is seeking a night-shift tester to support quality control in the production environment. You will perform standard tests on product batches and some incoming raw materials to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.

You will record results in SAP, maintain COAs, verify equipment, assist with investigations of complaints, follow safety rules, and complete all required paperwork and documentation for customers as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs standard tests on assigned product line production batches and some incoming raw materials to meet specs.
• Acts as a technical resource to production addressing issues related to production batches.
• Recommends and may develop adjustments to batches to meet specifications.
• Records test results in SAP and maintains reference files.
• Completes and maintains all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
• Ensures gauges and test equipment are verified.
• May participate in investigations of complaints and corrective actions as needed.
• Follows safety and work rules and maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
• Completes and sends documentation to customers (i.e. COA).
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Position tests product batches and will make adjustments, as necessary, to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards. Tests incoming raw materials and maintains Certificates of Analysis (COA) from suppliers.

Pay Rate: $21.50+ (experience considered)

Shift: 3rd

Schedule: 12:00AM - 8:00AM; Monday - Friday

• Acts as a technical resource to production addressing issues related to production batches.

• Ensures all gauges and test equipment are verified.
• May participate in investigations of complaints and corrective actions as needed.
• Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
• Completes and sends documentation to customers (i.e. COA).
• Other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk and/or hear. Occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally handle up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities may be required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, dust mask, hard hat, respirator, face shield, hearing protection, chemical suit, gloves, aprons, etc. Work is inside and the typical noise level
fluctuates from moderate to loud. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is Occasionally exposed to vibration. The employee is occasionallyexposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
