Lucid Motors in Wisconsin is seeking a Power Electronics Technician to support power electronics lab test setups, perform tests, and assist in failure analysis. Level depends on experience.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of electrical circuits and components.
  • Ability to read schematics and HV/LV wiring.
  • Experience setting up thermal chambers and cooling systems.
  • Strong mechanical and hands-on skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work independently and safely in a lab.
  • Preferred: 3+ years as technician.

Responsibilities

  • Support test setups for power electronics labs (functional, environmental, thermal, durability).
  • Perform and monitor tests as per test plan (EOL, thermal measurements).
  • Support failure/root cause analysis for failed units/components.
  • Wiring HV and LV cables to test stations and harness preparation.
  • Troubleshoot potential setup errors and optimize test rigs.
  • Prepare connectors/harnesses per engineers’ requirements.
  • Maintain lab organization following 5S methodology.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop cutting-edge electronics products.

We are currently seeking a Power Electronics Technician to join our dynamic and fast-paced team. The level will depend on the candidate’s experience. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and
approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly, and to strive for perfection
within a fast-paced environment.

The Role:
  • Support the test setups for power electronics labs (functional, environmental, thermal, durability,etc.)
  • Perform and monitor tests as needed by thetest plan e.g. EOL and thermal measurements
  • Support the failure analysis/root cause analysis for failed units/components
  • Wiring high voltage cables, coolant lines, and low voltage cables to test stations
  • Troubleshoot potential set up errors
  • Prepare harnesses and connectors according to engineers’ requirements
  • Keep the lab organized according to 5S methodology
  • Be part of a team that develops amazing electronics products
Qualifications:
  • Basic knowledge of electrical circuits and components
  • Basic understanding of HV and LV wiring and ability to read schematics
  • Basic experience with setting up and programming thermal chambers
  • Basic experience with cooling systems (antifreeze, coolant, refrigerant)
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Hands-on mentality
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible and responsive
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Good understanding on how to work safely and efficiently in the lab
Preferred:
  • Good understanding of lab equipment e.g. climate chambers, chillers, battery simulators, etc.
  • Over 3 years of experience as technician

Compensation Range : The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

Base Pay Range (hourly)

$35—$48 USD

Eligible employees may also participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual cash incentive program.
