At Micron, our Global Quality Operations (GQ Ops) team plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing excellence, improving cycle time, enhancing data quality, and enabling operational efficiency across the factory. We are looking for a highly motivated GQ Operations Technician to serve as a technical resource and operational leader who bridges production and engineering teams. In this role, you will drive workflow optimization, resolve complex manufacturing issues, support advanced technician training, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that impact product quality, throughput, and customer satisfaction.

As a GQ Operations Technician, you will leverage technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and Generative AI tools to improve operational performance, support engineering activities, and ensure smooth product movement through manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor workstation performance, cycle time, and manufacturing reports to identify operational constraints and implement improvement actions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve product flow interruptions, lot holds, lockups, tracking issues, equipment group holds, data transfer concerns, and manufacturing execution system errors.
  • Partner with Engineering, Equipment Support, and Production teams to improve equipment productivity, job release accuracy, process execution, and overall factory performance.
  • Lead advanced technical training efforts by mentoring, certifying, and coaching Manufacturing Technicians while developing and maintaining training materials and procedures.
  • Manage work-in-process (WIP) priorities, monitor bottlenecks, support scheduling optimization, and drive rapid issue resolution to meet production goals.
  • Perform equipment audits, support preventive maintenance activities, assist with kit changes, and maintain accurate hardware and inventory records.
  • Conduct initial failure analysis investigations, support corrective actions, and provide technical ownership until issues are fully resolved and cleared.

  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing processes, equipment issues, product holds, and operational workflow disruptions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with computer-based manufacturing systems, Microsoft Office applications, and data analysis tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, high-volume production, engineering support, or a related technical environment.
  • Experience supporting semiconductor operations, test, assembly, burn-in, quality, or manufacturing execution systems.
  • Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux-based systems, factory automation platforms, and manufacturing reporting tools.
  • Experience conducting failure analysis, supporting equipment recovery activities, and leading continuous improvement projects.
  • Experience utilizing Generative AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar platforms) to improve operational efficiency, reporting, analysis, training, or documentation.
