Job summary

CHS seeks a hands-on Memorials Associate to perform sandblast and Insimar inscriptions at two cemeteries and assist in general memorial operations. The role may involve directing traffic during peak visitation days and covering for an absent crew member.

You will also onboard new staff, maintain required skill updates, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations in a respectful, service-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Layout design experience is preferred.
• Must have knowledge of computer office software.
• Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.

Summary & Objective

Executes memorial inscriptions for Our Lady Queen of Heaven and Our Lady of Mercy. Assists on general memorial operations.

Essential Functions

• Executes Sandblast and Incimar inscriptions for two cemeteries.
• The Memorials Department has to perform duties in and out of the cemeteries on special events and Holidays, which includes signaling and directing traffic on those special visitation days.
• You are also required to cover the duties on the absence of a member of the installation crew.

Other Duties

• Provides orientation to new employees as needed.
• Maintain your mandatory skill updates.
• Comply with all policies, local, state and federal laws and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

• May serve as an interim department leader depending on need

Physical Requirements

• Physical Activity– Position requires frequent walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of sandbags, foot stones, and markers weighing 50-150 Ibs.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 250+ pounds, walk, climb stair or ladders, stand on feet for extended periods of time, etc.
