Job summary

Sovah Health - Martinsville, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a Technician, Medication Reconciliation. The role supports automated dispensing, cart fillings, inventory, and accurate delivery of medications to inpatient areas in a busy hospital.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, pharmacy technician certification if possible, and the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision. This is a full-time, on-site position at Sovah Health - Martinsville.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required or higher.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred.
  • Registered with State Board of Pharmacy upon hire or within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Refills and maintains automated dispensing systems.
  • Fills medication carts daily and prepares orders.
  • Maintains inventory for the pharmacy department and repackages bulk medications.
  • Collects accurate home medications lists for inpatients.
  • Delivers medications to patient care areas accurately and timely.

Hourly Range: $17.16-20.38 per hour

How You’ll Contribute
  • Refills and maintains automated dispensing systems.
  • Fills medication carts on a daily basis.
  • Prepares orders and maintains inventory for the pharmacy department.
  • Repackages bulk medications.
  • Collects accurate home medications lists for all inpatients.
  • Delivers medication to the proper patient care areas in an accurate and timely manner and within established guidelines.

What We’re Looking For

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional requirements include:

  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Must be registered with the State Board of Pharmacy, upon hire or within 90 days of employment in position per state guidelines or be actively enrolled in a College of Pharmacy.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification - preferred.
  • Three years hospital or retail pharmacy experience - preferred.
