Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in Brooklyn, NY seeks a Medical Assistant to greet patients, measure vitals, draw blood and support clinicians in daily procedures. This on-site, full-time role requires strong communication, accuracy in charting, and timely patient care.

Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED, Medical Assistant certification, 1+ year of MA experience, and bilingual abilities (English/Spanish or Russian).

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in diagnostic procedures and maintain a sterile field.
• Document patient information and notify staff as needed.

Technician Medical Surgical - NYP Medical Group Brooklyn – Day

Assists with diagnostic procedures using aseptic principles in creating and maintaining a sterile field during procedures. Uses technical skills regarding positioning, wound care, and dressings. Prepares, collects and arranges for disposition of specimens; transports patients, Assists in the care of the body after death. Maintains stock items for examination and blood drawing rooms, forms used by clinical staff, etc. Notifies appropriate others to order depleted stock. Maintains a safe, sanitary and therapeutic environment for patient care; assists in the cleaning and maintenance of technical equipment used in patient care and utility room; reports equipment requiring repairs to appropriate others. May answer telephones and issue appointments as needed. Performs other job-related duties as required. This is a full time day flex (Monday/Friday 9:00am/5:00pm) position at NYP Medical Group Brooklyn located at 3417 King's Highway, Brooklyn, NY.

Preferred Criteria

• One or more years of experience as a Medical Assistant
• Medical Assistant Certification
• Ortho, Primary, Surgical Care a plus
• Prior Authorization knowledge is preferred
• Bilingual: English and Spanish or Russian preferred
