Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• 1–3 years of automotive technician experience required.
• Ability to work with various makes and models; good diagnostic skills.
• Operates diagnostic equipment and shop tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair vehicles to specifications, using diagnostic devices.
• Tear down, repair, replace, and/or rebuild faulty assemblies such as power systems, steering systems, linkages, pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings.
• Rewire ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels and repairs manual and automatic transmissions.
• Explain technical diagnoses and required repairs to non-mechanical individuals.

Compensation Overview

This role is based on flagged hours. Average compensation for this position is $30 - $45 per flat rate hour.

Experience & Qualifications Needed:

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• 1-3 years of automotive technician experience is required
• Ability to drive and handle various vehicle makes models, and sizes.
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment team-oriented, flexible, and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, electrical, engine, alignment systems, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.

Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair vehicles to specifications, using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges, and computerized diagnostic devices.
• Tear down, repair, replace, and/or rebuild faulty assemblies such as power systems, steering systems, linkages, pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings.
• Rewire ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels and repairs manual and automatic transmissions.
• Adequately explains the technical diagnosis and required repairs to non-mechanical individuals.
