Basic Job Functions:

• Assist in the installation and qualification of systems, troubleshoot day-to-day manufacturing issues, and identify or implement system improvements to achieve throughput, yield, and product performance goals.

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required, with one of the following:
• Associates degree in a technical discipline
• 2+ years of machine or mechanic experience as a primary job function
• One year of technical experience at First Solar
• Six months’ experience as Temporary Manufacturing Engineering Technician at First Solar

Required Skills/Competencies:

• Troubleshooting skills on the manufacturing line
• Ability to handle administrative and technical tasks

Essential Responsibilities:

• Solve production, equipment, and process problems daily
• Identify and implement yield and performance improvements
• Develop causes for yield excursions
• Set up and maintain gauges
• Ensure processes run according to the Process Control Plan
• Respond to SPC alarms and bring processes into control
• Conduct process experiments, analyze data, and report results
• Collect data on tool and product performance
• Train production associates
• Develop and update documentation, SOPs, and process specs
• Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers on projects
• Understand area processes, equipment, and support systems
• Maintain effective communication with team members
• Distribute non-conforming products per criteria (NCP)
• Follow safety procedures and housekeeping standards
• Manage waste disposal and hazardous materials
• Perform other duties as assigned

Reporting Relationships:

• This position has no direct reports.

Travel:

• 0% - 5%, as needed for training or other purposes

Estimated Salary Range:

• $18.89 - $26.44 per hour

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, or walk for up to 12 hours
• Climb stairs frequently
• Lift up to 58 pounds occasionally; 37 pounds frequently
• Push/pull up to 27 pounds occasionally; 10 pounds frequently
• Use hands repetitively for grasping, lifting, handling
