Job summary

Sigma Foods in Elk City, OK is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing aspects. You will evaluate equipment for improvements to boost efficiency, capability and yield, while documenting findings in technical reports.

The role requires ability to work overnight shifts as needed, with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Technical certification in Industrial Maintenance or related field.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (reading, writing and speaking).

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment and systems.
• Adjust or replace worn or defective parts and reassemble repaired systems.
• Inspect equipment and maintenance systems to identify hazards, defects or needed repairs for compliance.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems.
• Document preventative maintenance in technical reports.
• Perform equipment failure analyses including preventive and unscheduled maintenance.
• Repair, install, replace and test water and medical gas supply systems and plumbing components.
• Repair, install and maintain electrical wiring systems and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical). Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve efficiency, capability and yield.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment and systems.
• Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts and reassemble repaired systems.
• Inspect maintenance systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems.
• Prepares technical reports to document preventative maintenance issues.
• Performs equipment failure analyses, including preventive and unscheduled maintenance.
• Repairs, installs, replaces, tests and trouble-shoots the water and medical gas supply and distribution system, including all plumbing valves, fixtures and outlets; completes plumbing safety inspections.
• Repairs, installs and replaces wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists and stud work.
• Install, repair and maintain various electrical wiring systems and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• HS Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Technical certification in Industrial Maintenance or other related field.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish reading, writing and speaking.

ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS

• Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and first, second and/or third shifts.
• Ability to work in temperature conditions between 35 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit; temperatures may occasionally exceed 95 degrees Fahrenheit.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Regularly required to stand and use hands and fingers in a repetitive motion. Frequently required to stand, walk and reach above the head. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear.

The employee is required to lift a minimum of ten pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office levels to loud factory or warehouse levels.
