Role summary:
This person will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and will be primarily responsible for identifying, managing, planning, supervising, and scheduling equipment maintenance activities for both production equipment. In the role of Maintenance Technician, you will be joining a world-class Maintenance and Engineering team that is delivering innovative solutions to tough problems.
Work is performed primarily at the Novonix Riverside facility. Working environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors. The noise level in the work environment can be noisy.
Responsibilities include:
• Perform regular inspections of equipment and facility systems to proactively identify maintenance needs and safety issues
• Execute daily maintenance tasks according to open work orders, ensuring timely and effective completion
• Maintain equipment performance and reliability by following preventive maintenance schedules and protocols
• Diagnose equipment issues and contribute to performance improvements through troubleshooting, upgrades, and system modifications
• Support the development and documentation of maintenance best practices, including SOPs and technical standards
• Assist in managing spare parts inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and organized storage
• Adhere to all site health, safety, and environmental regulations and participate in scheduled safety inspections
• Respond flexibly to changing priorities and other assigned tasks as needed
You are:
• Mechanically inclined and technically capable with industrial systems
• A critical thinker who can diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
• Collaborative and able to work well across departments including production, engineering, and reliability
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
• Detail-oriented and well-organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
• A strong communicator, both written and verbal
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with changing priorities
Extra awesome if you also have:
• Certificate or degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance role
• Familiarity with thermal processing systems, pneumatic conveyance, or chilled water systems
• Experience troubleshooting PLCs, particularly Allen Bradley or Siemens
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word); CMMS experience is a strong plus
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems; training or licensing is a bonus
• Understanding of NEC codes and general electrical safety standards
• OSHA 10 or 40 certification
• Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of work quality
