The Archdiocese of St. Louis seeks a Maintenance Technician to ensure all church buildings and grounds are well-maintained for worship and community service. With responsibilities ranging from routine inspections of HVAC systems to overseeing church events, this role plays a crucial part in supporting the church's mission. The Maintenance Technician ensures that all church buildings, grounds, and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe, and operational condition. This role supports the mission of the Catholic Church by providing a welcoming, well-maintained environment for worship, ministry, and community service.
Perform routine inspections and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting systems.
Conduct repairs to furniture, doors, locks, windows, and other facility elements.
Set up for church events, including Masses, funerals, weddings, and community gatherings.
Maintain church grounds: mowing, trimming, snow removal, and seasonal landscaping.
Ensure the safety and security of the premises.
Monitor and restock janitorial and maintenance supplies.
Maintain records of maintenance work and report larger issues to leadership.
Comply with diocesan policies and safety standards.
Supervise or coordinate with outside contractors as needed.
2+ years of experience in facility maintenance or a similar role.
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor.
Ability to work independently and handle emergencies.
Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holy days.
