Job summary

Triumph Actuation and Landing Gear Systems in Yakima, WA seeks a Maintenance Facilities Technician to service plant equipment and machines, including electrical, hydraulic, and CNC systems. You will support PM/TPM programs and help keep production on schedule.

Two shifts are available: 2nd shift 2:00 PM–10:30 PM with 10% premium and 3rd shift 10:00 PM–6:30 AM with 15% premium. Opportunities to advance through technician levels based on experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience with Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Siemens and Okuma controls preferred.
  • Carpentry and plumbing experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic controls.
  • Maintain CNC machine tools and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
  • Design and repair high‑pressure hydraulic systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machine tools and facility equipment.
  • Assist TPM and other process improvement initiatives.

Job description

Based in Yakima, WA, Triumph Actuation and Landing Gear Systems designs, manufactures, assembles, tests, and provides MRO services for aerospace products and systems that include hydraulic actuators, hydraulic valves and manifolds, hydraulic fuses, and repeatable release holdback bars and employs more than 240 employees. Triumph Actuation Products and Services - Yakima is an industry leader in landing gear actuation, providing actuation components to every major aircraft manufacturer. Triumph Actuation Products and Services - Yakima is also the sole supplier of the critical repeatable release holdback bars used for launching U.S. Navy fighter jets from aircraft carriers. TRIUMPH has provided every holdback bar since the F‑14.

Responsibilities
Position

Multiple openings: 2nd or 3rd Shift

2nd Shift: Monday – Friday 2:00 PM – 10:30 AM. Shift premium: 10% added to base hourly rate.

3rd Shift: Sunday – Thursday 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM. Shift premium: 15% added to base hourly rate.

Summary

The Maintenance Facilities Technician will perform all related maintenance duties on plant equipment and machines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, design, retrofit, and repair electrical systems, electronic controls, automation systems, PLCs, communication systems, servo drive systems, and computer‑related equipment.
  • CNC machine‑tool mechanical, geometrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems troubleshooting, repair, and installation.
  • Design, install, troubleshoot, and repair precise high‑pressure hydraulic systems.
  • Filtration systems maintenance.
  • Critical component inventory control.
  • Schedule and perform annual, semi‑annual, and quarterly scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on machine tools and facility equipment.
  • Act as the focal point for total preventive maintenance (TPM) by collecting, reviewing, and reporting TPM completion sheets throughout the facility.
  • Miscellaneous fabrication work as necessary to support production needs.
  • Meeting production deadlines by following manufacturing schedules and procedures.
  • Working with support resources and cell leaders to resolve production problems when they arise.
  • Assist the maintenance supervisor in the creation of task SOPs and WIs.
  • Collaborate with technical staff and management to identify process improvements and plant changes.
  • Assist in developing and implementing action plans to diagnose the root cause of equipment issues.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to safety policies, contributing to risk mitigation management teams, and keeping all work areas clean.
  • Contributing to team effort by maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Continuously striving to find ways to make the manufacturing process more efficient and effective.
  • Contributing to the overall effectiveness of the assembly department through participation in FOD, 5S, TPM, PM, and process improvement programs.
  • Train others on job tasks in which they are proficient.
  • Available for unannounced overtime and being "on call" for weekend emergencies.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent required.
  • Prefer experience with Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Siemens, and Okuma machine tool controls.
  • Carpentry and plumbing experience are a plus.
Maint Facilities Technician Levels
  • Maint Facilities Technician 1
    • 1 year of industrial maintenance, CNC machine tool, or hydraulics experience.
    • Two (2) year technical degree in a related field with industrial CNC machine tool or hydraulics experience preferred.
  • Maint Facilities Technician 2
    • 3 years of industrial maintenance, CNC machine tool, or hydraulics experience.
    • Two (2) year technical degree in a related field with 1 year of industrial CNC machine tool or hydraulics experience preferred.
  • Maint Facilities Technician 3
    • 5 years of industrial CNC machine tool or hydraulics experience; OR
    • Two (2) year technical degree in a related field with 3 years of industrial CNC machine tool or hydraulics experience preferred.
  • Maint Facilities Technician 4
    • 7 years of industrial CNC machine tool or hydraulics experience; OR
    • Two (2) year technical degree in a related field with 5 years of industrial CNC machine tool or hydraulics experience preferred.
Preferred Experience
  • National Electrical Code (NEC) or NFPA 70 standards.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Precision measuring devices.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings/blueprints, wire schematics, and machine literature.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
Position Pay Ranges
  • Maint Facilities Technician 1: $20.23 - $28.56/Hour
  • Maint Facilities Technician 2: $24.07 - $33.98/Hour
  • Maint Facilities Technician 3: $28.75 - $40.58/Hour
  • Maint Facilities Technician 4: $33.63 - $47.47/Hour
