Job summary

Millennium Physician Group in Florida is seeking a skilled phlebotomist to perform venipuncture, collect blood samples, and prepare specimens for testing in a fast-paced lab environment. Duties include verifying patient records, labeling specimens with two identifiers, and ensuring safety and accuracy in processing.

This full-time role offers a Monday–Friday schedule, PTO, medical/dental/vision coverage, a 401(k) with match, and opportunities to guide junior staff while delivering compassionate

Qualifications

  • Phlebotomy certification or MA certification or phlebotomy program certificate.
  • 2+ years of experience in Lab.
  • Understand labeling/ID protocol and common lab tests.
  • Know OSHA safety regulations and universal precautions.
  • Ability to interpret orders and guide new phlebotomists.

Responsibilities

  • Performs venipuncture and capillary puncture for the Coumadin clinic.
  • Identify patient following protocol.
  • Prepare samples with correct label and barcode; inspect vials.
  • Reconcile outstanding sample report at day’s end.
  • Observe safety procedures and sample prep.
  • Support and guide day-to-day activities.
  • Clean up old orders and manage duplicates in Copia.
  • Provide excellent guest service to staff and patients.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Description Summary
Hours & Location:

Full Time: Monday-Friday 7:45am-4pm

13691 Metro Pkwy, Fort Myers & 3571 Del Prado N, Cape Coral

The Phlebotomist is responsible for drawing and collecting blood from patients and preparing the samples for testing. Verifies the patient's records, enters data into the system, and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. Processes specimens and demonstrates proper handling of samples. Instructs patients on Coumadin and performs limited waived testing. Maintains sample integrity by identification and labeling (2 identifiers). Maintains work area, supplies, and cleanliness.

Responsibilities
  • Performs painless venipuncture and capillary puncture for the Coumadin clinic
  • Identifies patient following protocol.
  • Prepares samples for processing w/correct label and bar code and inspects vials
  • Reconciles outstanding sample report at day's end.
  • Observe safety procedures and sample prep.
  • Support and guide in day-to-day activities.
  • Clean up old orders and combine orders in Copia, know which tests are duplicates and which are necessary for measures.
  • Demonstrate excellent guest service to internal team members and patients.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Phlebotomy certification or M.A. certification or certificate from a phlebotomy program.
  • 2+ years of experience in Lab.
  • Understand labeling/ID protocol, and knowledge of common lab tests, sample types, and vacutainers.
  • Understand Biohazard, OSHA safety regulations for medical offices, and Universal precautions.
  • Knowledge of test requirements and how to search Quest/LabCorp for esoteric tests.
  • Ability to interpret miscellaneous order
  • Ability to guide and observe new phlebotomists
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Compensation Range

$17.10 to $25.65 The anticipated base salary range represents the Company's good-faith estimate of the compensation it reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, internal equity, and business needs.
