Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification or MA certification required.

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to locate esoteric tests in Quest/LabCorp.

Responsibilities

• Perform painless venipuncture and capillary puncture.
• Label and process samples with correct barcodes.
• Enter data and verify patient records.
• Maintain safe, clean work area and proper sample handling.
• Provide guidance to new phlebotomists as needed.

Job Description SummaryHours & Location:Full Time: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm19531 Cochran Blvd, Port Charlotte, FLThe Phlebotomist is responsible for drawing and collecting blood from patients and preparing the samples for testing. Verifies the patient's records, enters data into the system, and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. Processes specimens and demonstrates proper handling of samples. Instructs patients on Coumadin and performs limited waived testing. Maintains sample integrity by identification and labeling (2 identifiers).
