Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a facilities maintenance professional to manage and repair building systems at our U.S. site. You will maintain HVAC and utilities, perform electrical and plumbing tasks, and ensure safe, reliable operation of equipment supporting manufacturing operations.

The role requires 5–7 years in facilities maintenance, ability to lift 40 lb, and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance with strong communication and safety awareness.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in a facilities maintenance department.
• Experience with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and hazardous material identification and handling.
• Demonstrated preventative maintenance experience.
• Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
• Strong service orientation and safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all facilities related equipment (HVAC units, air compressors, DI water systems).
• Perform building maintenance and repairs (painting, electrical, flooring/ceiling tiles, lighting).
• Ensure preventative maintenance and service requests are completed.
• Install and set up equipment; ensure operational readiness.
• Support production equipment maintenance team.

Job Description:

• Maintain all facilities related equipment - HVAC units, Air Compressors, DI water systems, etc.
• Perform building maintenance & repairs - painting, electrical, flooring/ceiling tiles, lighting, etc.
• Ensure all preventative maintenance & service requests are performed as required.
• Install, set up and ensure operational readiness of all required equipment.
• Support production equipment maintenance team.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of experience within a facilities maintenance department.
• Experience with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and hazardous material identification and handling.
• Demonstrated preventative maintenance experience.
• Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
• Self-motivated with excellent time management skills and demonstrated initiative; ability to work with little to no direction at times.
• Strong service orientation; a commitment to delivering prompt. quality service and to maintaining a safe work environment.
• High attention to detail and excellent oral and written communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively with personnel at all levels within the organization.
• Computer literacy and familiarity with some office applications.
• Trade school education preferred.

75% standing, 25% sitting. 90% inside, 10% outside.

The hourly pay range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $18.27 - $46.63.* *Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
