Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a dynamic Mfg. Equipment Tech.

to repair, calibrate, and maintain electro‑mechanical equipment used in production. The role emphasizes working from schematics and written instructions while contributing to a high‑performance manufacturing environment. The right candidate will have experience with electrical/mechanical test equipment, read schematics, and perform PMs with accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Experience with setup, use, repair, of test or electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude to adjust and repair on production equipment.
  • Ability to perform PM, calibration, general maintenance on test and electro-mechanical production equipment.

Job Description

Microchip’s Discrete Products Group (DPG) offers one of the industry's most comprehensive power and RF/microwave discrete semiconductor product portfolios. The DPG encompasses two business units, the Power Discrete & Modules BU and the RF/Microwave Discretes BU. Markets the PDM & RF/MW Discretes BU's address include: alternative energy, industrial, medical, defense, commercial aviation, communications, embedded systems, motor control, power solutions, sensors and security. Microchip DPG has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Mfg. Equipment Tech. The right candidate will be trained to repair, calibrate, and maintain electro-mechanical equipment used in production, or any other duties as directed.

Requirements/Qualifications
  • Experience with the setup, use, repair, of test or electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude to make adjustment and repair on production equipment.
  • Ability to perform PM, calibration, general maintenance on test and electro-mechanical production equipment.
  • Ability to work from schematics, mechanical drawings, or written instructions.
  • Experience in the use of multimeters, other test equipment, soldering irons, and mechanical tools.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Ability to use MS Office.
Desired Qualifications
  • Trade school or post high school certificate training in electronics.
  • Ability to perform calibration and repairs on production equipment.
  • Ability to interface with parts or service vendors.

The hourly pay range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $17.00-$32.69.*
