Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. in the United States is seeking a skilled facilities technician to maintain critical plant equipment and keep operations running smoothly.

You will service HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems, perform preventive maintenance, install new equipment, and support the production maintenance team in a fast-paced environment. The role requires safety consciousness, strong communication, and reliable, hands-on problem solving.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years in a facilities maintenance role.
• Experience with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and hazardous materials.
• Preventative maintenance experience.
• Able to lift at least 40 pounds.
• Strong time management and initiative; works with little direction.
• Excellent oral and written communication; safety-focused.
• Computer literacy and familiarity with office apps.
• Trade school education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain HVAC units, air compressors, DI water systems and related equipment.
• Perform building maintenance and repairs (painting, electrical, flooring, lighting).
• Complete preventative maintenance and service requests.
• Install and set up required equipment and verify operation.
• Support the production equipment maintenance team.

Job Description

• Maintain all facilities related equipment – HVAC units, Air Compressors, DI water systems, etc.
• Perform building maintenance & repairs – painting, electrical, flooring/ceiling tiles, lighting, etc.
• Ensure all preventative maintenance & service requests are performed as required.
• Install, set up and ensure operational readiness of all required equipment.
• Support production equipment maintenance team.

Requirements/Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience within a facilities maintenance department.
• Experience with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and hazardous material identification and handling.
• Demonstrated preventative maintenance experience.
• Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
• Self-motivated with excellent time management skills and demonstrated initiative; ability to work with little to no direction at times.
• Strong service orientation; a commitment to delivering prompt. quality service and to maintaining a safe work environment.
• High attention to detail and excellent oral and written communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively with personnel at all levels within the organization.
• Computer literacy and familiarity with some office applications.
• Trade school education preferred.

75% standing, 25% sitting. 90% inside, 10% outside.

Pay Range

• We offer a total compensation package that ranks among the best in the industry. It consists of competitive base pay, restricted stock units, and quarterly bonus payments. In addition to these components, our package includes health benefits that begin day one, retirement savings plans, and an industry leading ESPP program with a 2 year look back feature.
• The hourly pay range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $18.27 - $46.63.* *Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
